Flying Squirrel Pizza フライング・スクリュール・ピザ

While Aliyah was visiting Seattle, we wanted to have dinner with Sarah and Aliyah. Then, we found out Rachel was in town visiting Eric so the 6 of us went out to dinner to Flying Squirrel Pizza (stylishly in Vango). Before dinner, we went to Sarah's and played Rock Band.
友達のアリヤがシアトルに来ている間にサラと晩御飯を一緒にしたいねと話していました。ちょうどレイチェルもエリックに会いにシアトルに来てるから６人で（サラ、エリックとマットの愛用するヴァンゴーという名前のヴァンに乗って）フライング・スクリュール（ムササビという意味）ピザ屋に行きました。行く前にサラのうちでロックバンドゲームをしました。

Flying Squirrrel Pizza is a Pizza place we've been wanting to try. We really wanted to go to Delancy but it was closed for the Holidays.

フライング・スクリュールは前から行きたかったピザ屋です。本当はディランシーに行きたかったけどクリスマスからお正月まで休みでした。

We got the chanterelle mushroom special, #8 (free-range egg, organic arugula, fresh buffalo mozzarella, parmesan, red onion, sauce ) and Maggie’s (Aged mozzarella AND fresh buffalo mozzarella (buff mozz added after baking), tomatoes, fresh basil, sauce)
食べたピザは、シャンチェラル・キノコのスペシャル、8番（ルッコラ、バファロー・モッツアレッラ、パルメザン、赤玉葱、トマトソース）とマギーズ（モッツアレッラ、バファロー・モッツアレッラ（焼けてからのせてある）、トマト、バジル、ソース）。

Merry X'mas Eve クリスマス・イヴおめでとう

We went to Anita and Jim's for Xmas. We were going to go there last year but with the snow in Seattle last year, it didn't happen.
クリスマスはアニタとジムのところに行きました。去年行くはずでしたが大雪で行けませんでした。

Jim cooked us a very nice meal for us.
ジムがとってもおいしいご飯を作ってくれました。

Elmo got a "special" dinner too. We were impressed when we opened the can and found meat and veggies in different sections within the can.
エルモも特別なご飯を食べました。缶を開けたら野菜と肉と別々になっていたから感心しました。

We were invited to two parties.
Party #1 was at Bridget and Eldon's and it was a candy making party making. We (as a group) made: lollipops, chocolate covered salted caramel, chocolate covered candy coated almonds, and (our favorite now thing to do) candy cane. It was a very educational fun party. Thank you!
パーティに2つ招待をされたので忙しい1日でした。
1つめのパーティはブリジットとエルドンのお菓子作りでした。
みんなで作ったお菓子は：ロリーポップ、塩キャラメルのチョコレート、アーモンド・キャンディーのチョコレート、と（このパーティでしっかりはまってしまった）キャンディー・ケインです。すごく勉強になった楽しいパーティでした。ありがとう。

Party #2: Eric's graduation party. Because Eric loves hockey, we all (50 people in total) went to see a game. Congratulations, Eric!

2つ目はエリックの卒業パーティでした。エリックはホッケーが大好きだから友達みんな（50人！）で見に行きました。卒業おめでとう！

Thanksgiving 感謝祭

We were thankful for a lot this year. One of which was the Bloody Mary Jennie made. When Matt wasn't looking, Jennie added a whole lot more booze.

今年は感謝するべき事が多かったです。その一つはジェニーの作ったブラディー・メリーでした。マットが見てない間にジェニーは沢山アルコールを継ぎ足しました。

Russell made the turkey. He wrapped the whole bird in bacon. Nile doesn't eat birds so she got beef.

ラッセルが七面鳥を料理しました。七面鳥はベーコンに包んでからオーブンへ。ナイルは鳥を食べないから代わりに牛肉。

赤キャベツとジュニパーベリー。クリームとポテトが入った大きなシュー。マークビットマンのレシピのスイートポテトとセージのパンチェッタ包み。

Joy of Cooking's pumpkin pie, Alice Water's apple custard pie, Mike and Minna's red velvet cake. Dessert was served with sour apple sorbet and pomegranate sorbet both made by John.

The night before Thanksgiving 感謝祭の前の日

This year Nile didn't have to cook a whole Thanksgiving dinner, thus we made a pate. Since it was her first time, she made a non-liver pork, beef and mushroom pate wrapped in prosciutto. We were able to get matsutake and porcini so it was a very decedent pate. Next time, we want to try a pate with liver

今年ナイルは感謝祭の料理をしなくて良かったから代わりにパテをみんなで作りました。初めて作るからレバー無しの豚肉と牛肉ときのこのパテを作りました。松茸とポッチーニ入りのパテを生ハムで包んだ贅沢なパテでした。次回はがんばってレバー入りのパテを作ってみたいです。
