Elmo and Kili エルモとキリ

Nile often asks Elmo to sit by Kili.
ナイルはよくエルモにキリのそばに座ってもらいます。

They still fit on the same chair together.
まだ同じいすに二人で座れます。

But sometimes, Elmo sits or sleeps by Kili.

でも時々エルモは自分でキリのそばに座ったり寝たりします。

We're hoping they will be best friends.

親友になって欲しいです。

Friends of Foods (with new members!) 外食会（新メンバー！）

We have a little get together with Donna and Spencer every month and we call ourselves "friends of food". Since November, our membership to friends of foods has increased 50%. Our newest members are photographed below.
毎月友達のドナとスペンサーと食べ物の友達という外食会を４人でしてます。１１月以降なんとメンバーが５０％も増えました。新メンバーは下に写真が載ってます。

We went to St. Clouds for brunch. The place was filled with families with babies and our little ones did very well.
今回は家の近くのセント・クラウドに行って来ました。沢山の家族連れの中私たちの赤ちゃんたちもいい子でした。

For a while friends of food will most likely be meeting for brunch and lunch.
しばらく食べ物の友達はブランチとランチを食べ歩くと思います。

Salumi サルミ

Salumi is a little restaurant only open four days a week (all week days), and only for lunch. In the summer there is a line out the door and you typically have to wait for more than an hour to get a sandwitch. They have a little back room they will let you reserve for a party of eight to ten people. Nile had to make the reservation months in advance, but it was worth the wait.

Matt's parents were in town to see Kili and so were Takashi and Yoshie, so it was a perfect time to make this work.

サルミは週に四日（しかも全部平日）に昼ごはんにしか開いてない小さなレストランです。夏の観光シーズンになると行列が並び、サンドイッチを買うのに一時間くらい並びます。裏の小さな部屋は8人から10人のシェフのスペシャルランチを予約することができます。何ヶ月も前からの予約が必要ですが待つ甲斐絶対あります。

家族が沢山同時に来ていたので丁度良いと思って予約しました。

One of the most interesting dishes we were served was lardo. It was the fat from panchetta lightly fried and then wrapped on a bread stick. It was much more delicious than it sounds, and I think it sounds pretty good.
出てきた料理のなかでも珍しかったのはラーアードでした。パンチェッタの油の部分をいためて細長いクラッカーに巻いてあります。とってもおいしかったです。

Our first course was a platter of salumi meats. Favorites include the salumi salami which is sold to many pizzarias around town, and a mole salami. Next is a meatball bruchetta. This is a two bite version of their most amazing meat ball sandwitch.
最初のコースはサルミのサラミ盛りでした。街のピザ屋にも卸しているサルミサラミやチョコレートの入ったモレサラミも含まれていました。次に出てきたのはミートボールのブルシェッタです。これはサルミのサンドイッチのなかでも一番おいしいミートボールサンドイッチのミニバージョンでした。

Holiday Season ホリデー・シーズン

For Kili's first Christmas, our friends Donna and Spencer came over with their little daughter (born 5 weeks before Kili) came over. We had a wonderful laid back dinner. While we were taking a photo of both of them, both started to cry.
キリの初めてのクリスマスには友達のドナとスペンサーが（キリが生まれる５週間前に生まれた）娘を連れてうちに来ました。とってものんびりした楽しいごはんでした。家のツリーの前で写真を撮ってる間に二人とも泣き始めました。

After new years, Nile's dad and Yoshie came over to meet Kili.
年が明けてから父とよしえちゃんがキリに会いに来ました。

Takashi and Yoshie brought over a lot of food for us. The first night they were here, we invited Russell, his mom and John over for dinner. The next day we went to their house to play with new toys they got. Here is Yoshie making Popsicles on the Anti griddle machine.
父とよしえちゃんはいっぱい食べ物を持ってきてくれました。着いた日、ジョンとラッセルとラッセルのお母さんを晩御飯（おせち）に招待しました。次の日、ジョンとラッセルのうちに新しく買った機械を見に行きました。写真はアンティグリドルという表面がー５０℃になる機械でよしえちゃんがアイスキャンデーを作ってます。

We did a lot of outing with Takashi. Here we are downtown with a photo with the police on a horse and also on the ferry, on the way to Shima.

父のいる間いっぱい出歩きました。写真はダウンタウンで馬乗りの警官と一緒にそして志摩に行く途中のフェリーで。

Matt's parents came and visited us after their trip to Hawaii. Here is Matt playing the piano as his mom is singing and Elmo listening.

マットの両親もハワイの帰りに遊びに来ました。マットがピアノを弾いて、お母さんが歌ってるのをエルモが聴いています。

Kili's First Week キリの最初の一週間

Our daughter, Kili, was born 2:28 AM December 17. She weighed 7 pounds, 2.2 Oz.
娘のキリが１２月１７日午前２:２８に生まれました。体重は３２４０gでした。

Nile's mom visited us in the hospital the morning after the birth. She stayed at our house for a few days and helped us get started.
生まれた日の朝に早速母が病院に会いに来ました。数日うちに泊まって手伝ってくれました。


Jill arrived from Los Angeles on Monday. We visited Nile's workplace. This was Kili's first outing. We might make a tradition of taking a photo in front of the conservatory tree. I hope she's not crying next time.
次はマットのお姉ちゃんのジルが月曜日に来ました。ジルのいる間に職場にも顔を出してきました。これがキリ最初のお出かけでした。職場のクリスマスツリーの前で写真を撮るのを我が家の伝統にしょうかと思ってます。次回は笑っていて欲しいです。

Steve arrived from Boston on Tuesday. He and Jill helped us with a lot of cooking and caring for Kili.
火曜日にマットの双子のスティーブもボストンから来ました。ジルもスティーブもキリの世話したりご飯を作ったりしてくれて助かりました。

Our friend Russell and John (not in photo) took care of Elmo for us while were in the hospital.
友達のラッセルは病院にいる間エルモのしてくれました。

Kili's arrival makes this Christmas very special.
キリのおかげでとても特別なクリスマスになりました。

Introducing Kili Kurashige Deeds キリ・クラシゲ・ディーズの紹介

We are happy to announce the arrival of our daughter, Kili Kurashige Deeds.
She was born at 2:28 AM, December 17. Weighing 7lbs 2oz, (3240 grams)
measuring 20 inches (51 cm).


娘のキリの誕生を発表します。
１２月１７日２時２８分に娘が生まれました。体重は３２４０ｇ、で身長は５１ｃｍです。
